The Bottom Line

I've got dog-loving friends who've told me they refuse to watch "Eight Below" because it looks like it could be sad. Too bad for them, because they're missing out on a movie every animal lover should watch. An amazing story of friendship and courage, "Eight Below" ranks right up there as one of the best dog movies ever produced by Hollywood.

Guide Review - "Eight Below" DVD Review

A team of beloved sled dogs is left behind when their guide is forced to leave Antarctica in "Eight Below", an action-adventure film inspired by a true story.

Jerry (Paul Walker) is more comfortable around his amazing team of sled dogs than he is around most people. He's devoted to his incredible team of canines and they seem equally enamored with their human companion. A particularly harsh storm and a life-threatening accident force Jerry and the others housed at a remote outpost in Antarctica to have to fly out, leaving the dogs behind. Jerry only agrees to take off without his team on the condition they'll return quickly to evacuate the dogs. When circumstances prevent Jerry from being able to return, the dogs are forced to fend for themselves in unforgiving weather and against all odds.
