Guide Review - The Princess Bride 20th Anniversary Collector's Edition DVD Review
The beautiful Buttercup (Robin Wright Penn) believes the love of her life - handsome stableboy Westley (Cary Elwes) - is dead. Heartbroken, Buttercup accepts the advances of the sleazy Prince Humperdinck (Chris Sarandon) which leads to her being kidnapped by a couple of troublemakers out to start a war. But Buttercup was wrong and her beloved Westley isn't really dead. However for Westley, saving Buttercup and living happily ever after isn't quite as easy as some fairy tales make it seem. True love is put to the test as Buttercup and Westley must overcome incredible odds in order to be together forever.
The Bonus Features
While the bonus features aren't exactly overwhelming, there are a couple of fun pieces included in the mix. The cast looks back on their time on the Princess Bride set in 'The Princess Bride - Untold Tales.' 'The Art of Fencing' featurette has Robert Goodwin giving the inside scoop on fencing and how the actors were taught that it's really all about the footwork. Also included on the 20th Anniversary DVD is 'Fairytales and Folklore' with the actors talking about the lasting appeal of the story. For those into playing games, check out 'True Love and High Adventure: The Official Princess Bride DVD Video Game'. It's slow and kind of silly, but it will keep you busy for an hour or two.
