Guide Review - "Little Manhattan" DVD Review
Josh Hutcherson stars as Gabe, an 11-year-old boy whose dealing with family issues while discovering he's got feelings for his classmate, Rosemary (Charlie Ray). Gabe and Rosemary have been friends for years, but suddenly Gabe is starting to see his long-time friend in a completely new, completely confusing light. Set in the Big Apple, "Little Manhattan" has a magical feel to it as the youngsters explore their new relationship.
DVD Bonus Features:
Want to know what it's like to try and get a flock of sheep to do what they're supposed to on cue? If so, check out the hilarious 'Sheep Meadow' featurette for the does and don'ts of working with animals. The DVD also includes a 'Helmet Interview' segment with Hutcherson's character having to ride around town wearing a helmet. The resulting scenes definitely don't play out as well as the ones without the helmet, and it's easy to tell why the filmmakers campaigned to shoot the film minus the accessory.
Additionally, the "Little Manhattan" DVD features a commentary track (very slow-going) and a few deleted scenes, none of which would have added anything to the film had they been left in.
