The story takes place in a supermarket where everything comes to life. Sheen will lend his voice to Dex Dogtective while Longoria will provide the voice of Lady X, the leader of a villainous group. Brady will play Daredevil Dan, Lloyd is Mr. Clipboard, and Kattan will be Polar Penguin. Hilary Duff has signed on to be Sunshine Goddess and sister Haylie will be Sweetcakes.
Threshold Animation CEO Larry Kasanoff will direct the film from a script by Brent Friedman, Rebecca Swanson and Sean Derek. "Foodfight!" is scheduled to be released in Fall 2006.
In a statement issued by Lions Gate and Threshold Animation, Kasanoff said, "This cast absolutely completes our vision for these characters. They each bring a unique style and humor to their role, and their voices will add another element of life to the 3D animation and new technology we are using in production of the film. This is a huge movie with an enormous cast, comprised of rising stars and those that have been adored for generations. Securing the right actors to voice the characters was a huge undertaking, and we are absolutely thrilled that Charlie, Eva, Wayne, Chris, and Christopher are joining Hillary and Haylie to make this film as special as we have always anticipated it would be."
