"Hostel" - The Story: "'Hostel’s' about backpackers that travel around Eastern Europe and I think that it will have the most sex and violence combined into one movie. It’s going to be much more like 'Caligula.' I mean there’s so much sex. I had to shoot it in Prague and Eastern Europe, and I kind of got away with murder."
Roth Wanted There to Be "Cabin Fever" Babies - Will "Hostel" Have the Same Effect on Audiences?: "I hope so... I think people might be a little too revolted by 'Hostel.' It’s really, really disgusting. I mean it’s going to be a great date movie but there’s a point where it’s just so horrifically violent and disturbing that I don’t know if people are going to want to have sex.
I want people to walk out just shocked and telling people, 'Don’t go see that movie. It’s too intense.'"
On What's Happening with "The Box:" "'The Box?' Well, Rich Kelly’s starting his movie 'Southland Tales.' So it’s kind of like I’m waiting until I get finished with 'Hostel' and then he’s done with 'Southland Tales,' or at least shooting, and then we’re going to focus on 'The Box.'"
Eli Roth on the Script for "The Box:" "Well we both got kind of sidetracked by our movies. It’s one thing that we have, but we each have a movie to direct. That’s what we’re here for."
Exchanging Pages of "The Box" Script with Kelly: "We’re still doing that. We’re still doing it. We have a draft and we’re just kind of reworking it."
Roth on the Order of Upcoming Projects: Does Roth see "The Box" going into production before or after "The Bad Seed?" Roth said, "We’ll have to see. 'The Bad Seed' is going to be much more dependent on cast. If there’s a movie star that wants to do 'Bad Seed' and they’re available, I’d have to put that ahead. But I’d like to shoot 'The Box' this year."
Casting "The Bad Seed:" "I don’t know. There are a number… The dream cast is Patty McCormack but I think she’s in her 60s."
Eli Roth on Producing the "Baywatch" Movie: "Oh yeah. I’m a co-producer on that. 'Baywatch' is just a great excuse for me to go to the beach and hang out with models and have somebody else pay for it. I mean there’s really no like… I can’t really couch that one in any sort of artistic way. It’s just a fun trip to the beach. After being out in the woods with blood and being in a bunch of factories in Prague, I think I deserve a trip to the beach. That’s what I think."
Any Other Projects in the Works?: "There’s a lot of things on the horizon. I think it’s enough. This is all that will be dished at the moment…"
