Mar 23, 2007 - Titanic stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet will reunite onscreen for the movie Revolutionary Road from director Sam Mendes. Revolutionary Road marks the first time Mendes will direct his wife, Winslet, in a feature film.
Since their Titanic days together, DiCaprio and Winslet have collected five Oscar nominations as well as earned recognition as two of the best actors of their generations.
Revolutionary Road was adapted by Justin Haythe and is based on the first novel by Richard Yates. Yates' book tells the story of Frank and April Wheeler, a seemingly happy couple with two children living in Connecticut in the 1950s who yearn for so much more than their ordinary suburban lives and believe greatness is in their future.
In a press release announcing the casting of DiCaprio and Winslet, Adam Goldman (President of Production at DreamWorks) said, "This is an extraordinary combination of three very special talents who represent the best in motion pictures. We are very fortunate to bring Leo, Kate, and Sam together to tell a story that can reflect the excellence that audiences around the world expect of them."
Production on the DreamWorks film will begin this summer.
