Variety is reporting Leonardo DiCaprio ("Gangs of New York," "The Aviator") will star and produce an action/thriller centering around the world of mercenaries used to wage war.DiCaprio's production company, Appian Way, will join Beacon Pictures and Initial Entertainment Group to produce the project. Scott Burns has been tagged to write the screenplay. Burns has finished his work on "The Informant" set to star Matt Damon and will direct "PU-239" from his script.
Leonardo DiCaprio will next be seen as Howard Hughes in "The Aviator" for director Martin Scorsese and will soon begin filming "The Good Shepherd" with Robert DeNiro in the director's chair.
