Guide Review - "Cursed" DVD Review - The Unrated Version
One night the arguing sibs - Ellie (Christina Ricci) and Jimmy (Jesse Eisenberg) - are driving home and crash their car into Shannon Elizabeth's. While trying to rescue her from her overturned vehicle, a werewolf attacks. They're both bitten by the creature and soon they develop strange, quirky personality traits along with a lust for raw meat.
So who is the main werewolf and why does Ellie's boyfriend (Joshua Jackson) seem so distant? Those are just two of the questions that have to be resolved before "Cursed" winds to a close.
I didn't see "Cursed" during its run in theaters so I can't compare this unrated version to what was released during its theatrical run. But if this is the bigger, gorier, improved version, then that's not saying much for what moviegoers had to sit through. It's not that "Cursed" is a bad movie - parts of it are downright entertaining. It's just that we've come to expect a lot from Wes Craven and his "Cursed" turns out to be a letdown.
"CURSED" BONUS FEATURES
The bonus features are a little above the standard extras we usually see on horror film DVDs. In particular 'The Making of 'Cursed' is worth checking out. And if you're into special effects/make-up, then the rest of the features will be right up your alley.
