It hardly seems like it's been a year since Tom Cruise jumped up and down on Oprah's couch declaring his love for former Dawson's Creek star Katie Holmes. The couple - dubbed TomKat by the media - began dating in April 2005, got engaged atop the Eiffel Tower in June, and on April 18, 2006 became parents to a 7 pound, 7 ounce baby girl.Cruise, 43, and Holmes, 27, have named their first child Suri, which in Hebrew means 'princess'. In a statement issued by Cruise's people, mother and child are apparently doing fine. Absent from the official statement was the location of the birth and details on whether Katie Holmes went through labor without screaming (as Scientology apparently dictates).
Suri is Cruise's first biological child although the actor is the father of two adopted children with former wife, Nicole Kidman.
In addition to being a new father, Cruise is keeping busy with promotional duties for his upcoming movie Mission Impossible 3.
