Tom Cruise and Ben Stiller have signed on to star in the 20th Century Fox movie The Hardy Men, a sequel of sorts to The Hardy Boys series. Stiller and Cruise will play the Hardy boys all grown up in the new feature film to be directed by Shawn Levy.
Stiller and Levy mined box office gold with their family-oriented comedy, Night at the Museum, and had been looking for a new project to do together with Tom Cruise. The new film will find the brothers, who have grown apart, coming together to solve one more mystery. The studio expects production to start in 2008 and is currently searching for a new screenwriter to work on the action comedy.
Stiller will next be seen in The Heartbreak Kid with Michelle Monaghan. Stiller's also currently at work providing the voice of Alex the Lion in Madagascar 2.
Cruise and his producing partner Paula Wagner recently took over United Artists and have kept busy working on production deals for the reinvigorated studio.
