What's your current TV project?
Im hosting a show on Fox called Celebrity Duets. Its in the vein of American Idol but it pairs these professional singing icons like Patti LaBelle and Chaka Khan and Smokey Robinson with people that have made their living maybe as actors and personalities, but actually are able to sing and you maybe didnt know that they did. Like Lucy Lawless and Lea Thompson. Then they win $100,000 for the charity of their choice. But a la American Idol, they get voted off. Im the host of that. That starts the 29th of [August] and goes all through the month of September every Thursday and Friday, with the results show being on Friday. Then I have a pilot thats being held by the CW called Flirt where I play the only guy at an all girls magazine. And Im producing a number of cartoons and kids sketch shows for both Noggin and for The Disney Channel.
Will you get the chance to show off your improv skills while hosting Celebrity Duets?
As a host, by sheer title alone, that just means that whatever comes up
I think that because of my personality and the kind of person I am, I will take advantage of comedic moments. But its not about me. Its about the singing. But if something funny is to happen, then Im all over it.
Has anyone surprised you as a singer?
I havent heard the cast sing but I have heard most of them sing at one point or the next, whether they were on my show, and quite a few of them actually can sing.
Do you enjoy going back and forth between TV and movies?
I see no reason to limit yourself, said Brady. Certain opportunities come up and thats why you do things to use it as building blocks. So I hope that a slew of those opportunities come once Crossover comes out and people can see that I can handle myself well. Well see what happens.
