"Count of Monte Cristo" (2002)
Edmond Dantes is an honest man whose peaceful life and plans to marry the beautiful Mercedes are abruptly shattered when his best friend Fernand, who wants Mercedes for himself, deceives him. Set up and sent to prison, Edmond is trapped in a nightmare that lasts for thirteen years. With thoughts of vengeance, Dantes escapes from prison and transforms himself into the wealthy Count of Monte Cristo.
Men will enjoy the film for its swashbuckling action while women should enjoy the love story (and the action).
