March 29, 2006 - Warner Bros Pictures has confirmed what's long been rumored. There is definitely going to be an Ocean's 13 and the gang from Ocean's 11 and Ocean's 12 are all set to return. Steven Soderbergh is also onboard as director.

George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon have said yes to 13. Andy Garcia, Don Cheadle, Bernie Mac, Casey Affleck, Scott Caan, Eddie Jemison, Shaobo Qin, Carl Reiner and Elliott Gould are also expected to return for the third Ocean's movie.

While the men are all either signed on or in talks to repeat their roles from the previous Ocean's movies, the same can't be said for the female leads. Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones won't be pulling repeat engagements and Ellen Barkin has joined the cast as, so far, the only female love interest. According to the official announcement by Warner Bros, another major role [presumably female] will be cast shortly.

Filming is scheduled to begin on July 21, 2006 in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Brian Koppelman and David Levien wrote the script and Jerry Weintraub will produce the movie. Ocean's 13 is being co-financed by Warner Bros Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures.

In a statement issued by Warner Bros, Weintraub said, “Steven Soderbergh came up with a great idea. Brian and David wrote a terrific script and that made it irresistible, and everyone thought it would be great to get together and make another one of these movies.”

Back in December 2004 at the Hollywood Premiere of Ocean's 12, Casey Affleck gave the best answer to my question on the possibility of an Ocean's 13 movie. While everyone else from the cast responded with the standard, "We'd love to do it again" type of line, Affleck said, "I think that’s unlucky. It’ll probably be 'Ocean’s 14.' We’ll skip right to '14' like an elevator." You have to admit that's a little better than the basic "yes."
