Three-time Oscar nominee Leonardo DiCaprio is all set to star in the dramatic film Farragut North based on the play by Beau Willimon. And if the deal works out right, Academy Award-winner George Clooney (supporting actor, Syriana) may be going behind the camera to direct the pic as well as signing on for a supporting role.
Warner Bros is currently in negotiations with Clooney to tackle the project. Clooney's production company would also be producing alongside DiCaprio's Appian Way. According to Variety, Willimon will be adapting his play for the big screen.
Willimon hails from Brooklyn and worked on the 2004 Howard Dean presidential campaign. That experience provided fodder for Farragut North.
George Clooney is currently finishing up Leatherheads which he wrote, directed and stars in. Leonardo DiCaprio is busy filming Body of Lies directed by Ridley Scott and co-starring Russell Crowe.
