George Clooney will Star in "Michael Clayton"

May 10, 2005 - George Clooney has signed on to star in the dramatic movie, "Michael Clayton," for writer/director Tony Gilroy. Clooney and his Section Eight company will produce the film along with Samuels Media, Mirage Enterprises, and Castle Rock Entertainment.

Screenwriter Gilroy ("The Bourne Identity," "Proof of Life," "Armageddon") will be making his directorial debut with "Michael Clayton." According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Michael Clayton" is about a corporate 'fixer', a guy who works behind the scenes to fix the personal problems of a New York law firm's clients.

Production on "Michael Clayton" is expected to begin in January 2006. Filming will take place in New York.

George Clooney recently wrapped production on "Goodnight, and Good Luck" and "Syriana." Clooney's expected to begin work on "The Good German" with Cate Blanchett and Tobey Maguire in September.
