Aug 31, 2007 - According to Focus Features, the Coen Bros' spy comedy Burn After Reading has now headed into production. The film which boasts an all-star cast including George Clooney, Brad Pitt, John Malkovich, Frances McDormand, Richard Jenkins and Tilda Swinton will be shot in New York City and Washington, DC, with the studio eyeing a 2008 release.
Ethan and Joel Coen wrote and are producing Burn After Reading, with Joel Coen directing. The behind the scenes team also includes director of photography Emmanuel Lubezki, costume designer Mary Zophres, and production designer Jess Gonchor.
Burn After Reading marks the third teaming of Clooney with the Coen Brothers. The threesome previously worked together on the 2003 romantic comedy Intolerable Cruelty and the Oscar-nominated film O Brother, Where Art Thou?.
Burn After Reading Synopsis
Malkovich plays an ousted CIA official whose memoir accidentally falls into the hands of two unwise DC gym employees intent on exploiting their find.
