Revisiting the Past: Given the opportunity to use a remote control in real life like the one in the film, what memory would Sandler like to go back and relive? I dont know. I liked Little League a lot. Cracking a base hit always felt good. Id like to get back to that day. You know, that aluminum bat smacking a ball that sounded good felt good in my hands. Running to first base, seeing my father actually think Im a stud for a second. I would go back to that.
Working with Christopher Walken: Every day was pretty enjoyable, watching The Walken, said Sandler. My favorite thing was introducing anybody to Walken, just the fear in everybody's eye when they're shaking Walken's hand. They don't know what's gonna happen. Walken's always very cordial, but people tend to be nervous around the man.
Is Click Sandlers Version of Its a Wonderful Life?: Sandler answered, You know, I don't know if it's our version of it. It had, definitely, learning a lesson about the way you're living your life. I wouldn't compare our movie to that, but it has a structure where it's about a man who doesn't appreciate all that he has and finds out at the end that life has been great and he has to enjoy that. They have similarities, no doubt about it.
Applying the films theme to his own life, Sandler says he needs to be frequently reminded that life is good and to take the time to enjoy it. I need a kick in the a** a lot. I always tend to forget. In one day, I have times where I'm feeling great, I feel like I love my life, and then 2:30 rolls around and I'm the angriest man alive. My wife sees it.
Coming Soon A 9/11-Themed Dramatic Film: I don't know how to describe the movie, how to sum it up," said Sandler. "I can't wait for Mike Binder, the man who wrote it, and hear him discuss it, because I don't know how to phrase this. But it's just about a man who's been through a terrible thing. He lost his family in 9/11and he has a hard time just living life and just being in the moment. He doesn't want to know about life. He tries to pretend he never had a family. He can only deal with life by thinking about stuff from his past and growing up. He bumps into [the character Don] Cheadle plays. We went to dental school together and my character hasn't spoken to anybody in five years, and Cheadle makes him feel comfortable. So it's about friendship, I guess. I'm sorry. I just don't know how to say it. It's a really interesting script and Mike Binder did a great job with the script. I saw some of it recently and it's a heavy-duty movie.
Life as a First-Time Father: Sandler and his wife recently celebrated the birth of their first child, and Sandler says things are going great. The baby situation is fine. I love that kid. Every day I get more and more excited and I feel comfortable with her. I just want her to feel comfortable with me. Im a little bit klutzy.
Sandler braved it out and did not pass out in the delivery room. No, I saw that though. That was heavy. That was heavy. The kid looked I was shocked by the bird like image coming out of the egg.
Nothings surprised him about fatherhood yet, but he is learning a thing or two about a babys ability to focus. I knew I would be excited. I was dying to do it and its a lot of fun. You know what is surprising? That the kid looks through me. The kid - theres no focus Every time I think the kid likes me Im like, Oh, shes staring at my forehead right now.
