How Many Chocolate Bars are Used in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?"

By Rebecca Murray, About.com

Question: How Many Chocolate Bars are Used in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?"

Answer: Nestle made and wrapped 110,000 plastic candy bars, which were for the most part used in the scene in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" where Mr. Salt’s Nut Factory's 500 employees rip the wrappers off to find the Golden Ticket for Veruca Salt.

In addition, Nestle produced 1,850 real chocolate bars for the film. According to Warner Bros, a special walk-in trailer was purchased just to hold the chocolate bars. The storage trailer was kept at the optimum humidity level in order to preserve the chocolate.
