Jim Carrey and Tim Burton Team Up for "Believe It or Not"

Based on the Life of Robert Ripley

By , About.com Guide

Nov 30 2005
Jim Carrey and director Tim Burton are in talks to bring to life the story of Robert Ripley in "Believe It or Not."

Larry Karaszewski and Scott Alexander ("Agent Cody Banks") wrote the script which focuses on Ripley, the man who was famous for being fascinated with the weird and unusual. A former cartoonist, Ripley became well-known for scouring the world and showcasing the strangest of the strange.

If Burton and Carrey agree to the deal, Paramount and Alphaville are hoping they'll be able to start work on "Believe It or Not" next October.

Burton recently directed "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "Corpse Bride" both of which were released in 2005.

Jim Carrey will next be seen in the remake of "Fun with Dick and Jane" and is in pre-production on "The Number 23."
