April 19, 2006 - Revolution Studios announced that filming is underway on Next, a science fiction/action thriller based on the Philip K Dick story, The Golden Man. Gary Goldman adapted Dick's story for the big screen.
Next is being shot in Los Angeles and will star Nicolas Cage, Julianne Moore and Jessica Biel. Next will be produced by Cage, Norm Golightly, Broken Road Productions' Todd Garner, Initial Entertainment Group's Graham King, and Arne Schmidt. Lee Tamahori is set to direct the film. Tamahori recently made the news when he was arrested while in drag for propositioning an undercover vice cop.
Cage stars as a man with the ability to, according to a press release issued by Revolutions Studios, "see future events and affect their outcome. Relentlessly pursued by the FBI, which is seeking to use his abilities to prevent a global terrorist threat, he is ultimately faced with the daunting choice of saving the world or the woman he loves."
