Amanda Bynes Gets "Lovewrecked"

With Chris Carmack and Jamie-Lynn DiScala


July 5, 2004 - Chris Carmack ("The O C") and "Sopranos" star Jamie-Lynn DiScala have joined the cast of Media 8 Entertainment Inc's teen comedy, "Lovewrecked." Amanda Bynes had already been confirmed to star in the film which will be directed by Randal Kleiser.

The "Lovewrecked" cast also includes Jonathan Bennett, Joey Kern, Fred Willard, Kathy Griffin, Alfonso Ribeiro, and Jackie Long. Ex-boy band member Lance Bass is also involved in the movie. Stephen Langford wrote the screenplay and Stewart Hall, Joe Anderson and Wendy Thorlakson are producing the film. "Lovewrecked" is being filmed on location in the Caribbean.

In a statement announcing the cast, Media 8's Stewart Hall said, "We are tremendously excited to have assembled such a talented cast to star alongside Amanda in 'Lovewrecked.' We've always seen this film as a fresh, fun teen comedy with wide audience appeal, and now this project has become even more dynamic with these talented and attractive new additions to the cast."

"Lovewrecked" - The Official Synopsis
Amanda Bynes plays Jenny, an 18-year-old girl who is ecstatic when she finds that her favorite rock star, Jason (Carmack), is a guest at the tropical resort where she is working for the summer. When they are both thrown overboard during a cruise, Jenny is even more thrilled to find herself stranded on a remote beach, alone with Jason. Jenny soon learns that they are actually just down the beach from the resort - but Jenny keeps the truth from Jason so that she will have a chance to win him over. Things get even more complicated when Jenny's rival Alexis (DiScala) pretends to be shipwrecked too, and they must compete for Jason's affections.
