Gerard Butler Signs on to Nim's Island

May 20, 2007 - Striking while the iron's hot, 300 star Gerard Butler has signed on to yet another movie. Following on the heels of the Game casting news, word now comes down that the super-hot Butler will be joining Jodie Foster and Abigail Breslin in Nim's Island.

Real-life couple Jennifer Flackett and Mark Levin (co-writers of Little Manhattan and Wimbledon) adapted the screenplay from the Wendy Orr book and are set to direct the film. Production is expected to begin in July.

Wendy Orr's kids book follows the adventures of a young girl named Nim who lives on an island with her dad, Jack, and an assortment of marine animal friends. When her father's boat runs into trouble, Nim has to be brave and take care of her island with help from her friends.

Butler will next be seen opposite Oscar-winner Hilary Swank in PS, I Love You.
