Cate Blanchett and Judi Dench Star in "Notes on a Scandal"

May 12, 2005 - Fox Searchlight announced Oscar winners Judi Dench and Cate Blanchett will be teaming up to star in the dramatic film, "Notes on a Scandal". The film is based on an award-winning novel by Zoe Heller and will be directed by Richard Eyre ("Iris," "Stage Beauty"). Patrick Marber ("Closer") adapted the screenplay.

Scott Rudin and Robert Fox will produce "Notes on a Scandal." Filming is expected to take place in August 2005 in London.

When Sheba Hart (Cate Blanchett) joins St. George's as the new Art teacher, Barbara Covett (Judi Dench) senses a kindred spirit. But Barbara is not the only one drawn to her. Sheba begins an illicit affair and Barbara becomes the keeper of her secret.
