Oscar winner Cate Blanchett (The Aviator) has signed on to star in the movie version of cartoonist Marisa Acocella Marchetto's memoir, Cancer Vixen: A True Story. Blanchett and husband Andrew Upton may also produce the film.According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are confirmed as producers. There's no word yet on who will direct or adapt the screenplay.
Cancer Vixen: A True Story is based on events in the life of Marchetto, a cartoonist for Glamour and The New Yorker. Marchetto didn't let the discovery of a lump in her breast get her down. Instead, she plunged forward with her wedding plans while undergoing chemo and keeping up with her fabulous life.
