Filming is scheduled to start in early April 2005 in Prague with a release sometime in 2006. Neil Burger wrote the script and will direct the movie, which is based on the short story "Eisenheim the Illusionist" from Steven Milhauser.
Set at the turn-of-the-century in Vienna, Edward Norton will play a magician who falls for a woman (Biel) well above his own social status. Her engagement to a prince (Sewell) prompts the magician to cast a spell that will help him win her back.
Biel will next be seen in Cameron Crowe's "Elizabethtown" and "Stealth" with Oscar winner Jamie Foxx. Rufus Sewell recently completed work in "Tristan & Isolde" and "Legend of Zorro," with both films set for release in 2005.
