Antonio Banderas has been keeping busy in front of the camera since making his directorial debut with the 1999 comedy, "Crazy in Alabama," which starred his wife, actress Melanie Griffith, and Lucas Black. Now it appears Banderas is ready to go back to work behind the camera as the director of a film set during the reign of Francisco Franco.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Spanish-language film will follow a group of kids who come of age during Franco's rule over Spain.

Antonio Banderas will next be seen in the sequel to 1998's "The Mask of Zorro," "The Legend of Zorro," which reunites Banderas with his "Mask" co-star Catherine Zeta-Jones. Banderas has also just signed on to star with Jennifer Lopez in "Bordertown" and will be reprising his role as the voice of Puss in Boots in "Shrek 3."
