Magnolia Pictures announced they've obtained the US distribution rights to the critically acclaimed Australian movie, Romulus, My Father, starring Eric Bana, Marton Csokas, and Franka Potente. Romulus, My Father earned 16 Australian Film Awards nominations including ones for best actor, actress, director and best film, making it the most nominated film in the history of the organization.
Richard Roxburgh makes his feature film directorial debut with Romulus, My Father. Nick Drake adapted the screenplay from Raimond Gaita's memoir. Robert Connolly and John Maynard produced the film.
Commenting on the acquistion in a press release, Magnolia President Eamonn Bowles said, "With a star on the level of Eric Bana and its history of awards, Romulus, My Father, is an exciting addition to the Ultra VOD program, and it highlights the exceptional quality of the films that have been showcased."
