Geoffrey Rush Will Star in Steven Spielberg's Untitled Munich Olympics Movie

June 2005 - Steven Spielberg is pulling together the cast for his upcoming film about the 1972 Munich Olympics. Oscar nominee Geoffrey Rush will be joining Eric Bana and Daniel Craig in the as-yet-untitled project.

Spielberg will be directing and producing the film, with Kathleen Kennedy, Barry Mendel and Colin Wilson also set to produce. The movie follows the events that took place at the 1972 Munich Olympics when members of the Israeli Olympic team were murdered by Palestinian terrorists.

Filming is expected to begin in July with the studio aiming for a December 23, 2005 release.
