"Rescue Dawn" is based on Herzog's "Little Dieter Needs to Fly" documentary and is the story of Dieter Dengler, a US fighter pilot who was shot down and held in a POW camp in Laos during the Vietnam War. Bale will star as Dengler and Zahn plays one of his fellow prisoners in the POW camp.
Christian Bale will next be seen in Terrence Malick's "The New World" starring Colin Farrell and Christopher Plummer. Bale also has "Harsh Times," a drama co-starring Freddy Rodriguez and Eva Longoria, set for release in 2006.
Steve Zahn just completed work on "Bandidas" with Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz. Zahn is also voicing a role in the Disney movie, "Chicken Little."
