Guide Review - "Babel" DVD Review
The story revolves around a vacationing American couple (Pitt and Blanchett) who are involved in a horribly tragic incident in Morocco. As they struggle against all odds to get help, back home in San Diego their children are being watched over by a Mexican housekeeper (Barraza) who makes a bad decision and takes the young kids with her across the border to celebrate her son's wedding.
Meanwhile in Japan, a story is unfolding involving a deaf schoolgirl who recently lost her mother. That portion of the story also focuses on the strained relationship with her remaining parent. All the while back in Morocco, the authorities are on the trail of what they believe to have been a terrorist group responsible for shooting a busload of tourists (and that leads us back to Pitt and Blanchett's story).
