Question: Waht are the SAG Awards?
The Golden Globes and the Oscars may get more publicity, but actors seem to respond more genuinely to the annual SAG Award nominations. So, what are the SAG Awards and who votes for the winners?
Answer: SAG stands for Screen Actors Guild, an organization made up of approximately 125,000 performers. 2,100 SAG members are selected at random to choose the nominees in 13 categories representing work in films and on television. The entire membership body is then allowed to vote for the winners.

The SAG Awards are the only awards show to exclusively honor actors. SAG is the "nation’s largest labor union representing working actors" according to the guild's official website. Members work in "film, television, industrials, commercials, video games, music videos, Internet and all new media formats as actors, stunt performers, singers, dancers, puppeteers and voice actors."
