San Diego Film Critics Select "Letters from Iwo Jima" as Best Picture

The San Diego Film Critics Society (of which I'm a member) added their voice to the chorus of critics' groups claiming Letters from Iwo Jima to be the best film of 2006. While that pick falls in line with other groups, the San Diego Film Critics Society looked beyond the usual suspects in other categories.

Best Documentary - Shut Up And Sing

Best Cinematography - Dick Pope, The Illusionist

Best Production Design - Owen Paterson, V for Vendetta

Best Editing - Christopher Rouse, Richard Pearson and Clare Douglas, United 93

Best Score - Gustavo Santaolalla, Babel

Best Ensemble - Babel

Body of Work - Edward Norton for The Illusionist, Down in the Valley and The Painted Veil
