Spike TV's 'SCREAM 2008' was a star-studded event in which some of Hollywood's hottest actors and filmmakers were honored with genre-specific awards. The 3rd annual event was held at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles and included appearances by Kristen Bell, Liv Tyler, Seth Rogen, Hellboy II: The Golden Army cast members, and Samuel L Jackson as well as Smashing Pumpkins performing G.L.O.W. and Kerli singing Walking on Air.

Prior to the show, celebrities walked the red carpet while enthusiastic fans (some made up as their favorite fictional characters) cheered from the bleachers. Among the celebs braving the media on the red carpet were Malin Akerman and Jeffrey Dean Morgan from Watchmen, John Hensley from Teeth, Ron Perlman, Doug Jones and Anna Walton from Hellboy II, Julie Benz from Saw 5, Jaime King and Frank Miller from The Spirit, Stan Lee, The Dark Knight producer Charles Roven, and Friday the 13th's Jared Padalecki and Amanda Righetti.

Star Wars creator George Lucas made a surprise appearance to collect his Comic-Con Icon Award. Tim Burton was awarded the SCREAM IMMORTAL Award for his "remarkably unique interpretation of horror and fantasy." Horrormeister Wes Craven earned the event's SCREAM Mastermind Award for his "terrifying and iconic work in the world of horror." And Sir Anthony Hopkins was given the Legend Award in recognition of his work in the SCREAM genres.
