Leonardo DiCaprio earned three nominations from his peers for the 13th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards but went home without a single trophy. Meanwhile his fellow nominees in multiple categories - Steve Carell and Helen Mirren - fared much better, taking home two awards each. Carell won SAG awards for Little Miss Sunshine and The Office and Mirren picked up two for The Queen and Elizabeth I. While the members of the Screen Actors Guild spread the love around, honoring performances from Last King of Scotland, The Queen, and Dreamgirls, it was Little Miss Sunshine's win in the best ensemble category that catapulted it into being a top contender for this year's Best Picture Oscar.

The annual Screen Actors Guild awards are the only entertainment industry accolades devoted solely to actors honoring actors. The nominees were selected by special television and film nominating panels (consisting of 2,100 randomly-selected SAG members from throughout the United States). All active members of SAG received a final ballot and were able to vote for the winners of this year's bronze Actor® statuettes.
