10 Movies Will Compete in the Best Animated Feature Film Category

Up to 3 of the 10 Will Actually Be Nominated

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has ruled that 10 animated feature films are eligible to compete for the Best Animated Feature Film Oscar honoring films released in 2005.

The executive committee of the Academy's short films and feature animation branch selected the films from which a maximum of three will actually receive a Best Animated Feature Film nomination.

"Chicken Little"

"Gulliver's Travel"

"Hoodwinked"

"Howl's Moving Castle"

"Madagascar"

"Robots"

"Steamboy"

"Tim Burton's Corpse Bride"

"Valiant"

"Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit"

The 78th Academy Award® nominations will be announced on January 31, 2006. The Oscars honoring the best of 2005 will be held on March 5, 2006 at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, CA.
