George Clooney, The Descendants, and The Artist had a great night, but overall the 2012 Golden Globes was one gigantic snorefest. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association invited Ricky Gervais back as host only to apparently put a muzzle on the comedian. Gervais completely disappeared for about an hour in the middle of the broadcast and when he did return to the mic, it wasn't the same Ricky Gervais who hosted the 2011 Golden Globes.
Although there were a couple truly moving speeches, including the one delivered by the director of The Artist, if you didn't catch the Globes on TV, don't worry - you didn't miss a thing.
