2011 SCREAM Awards Nominees and Winners

'Harry Potter' Rules the SCREAM Awards

The 2011 SCREAM Awards list of nominees didn't include a single sparkling vampire (or any friends/enemies of the non-fanged sparkling vampires). Why? Because The Twilight Saga: Eclipse was included in last year's show and Breaking Dawn Part 1 isn't hitting theaters until after this year's awards show airs. Instead, the SCREAM Awards 2011 were all about wizards, ballerinas, and R-rated vampires (you know, the ones with actual fangs who drink either human blood or a synthetic substitute).

The final chapter in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, tied with the reboot of the X-Men franchise, X-Men: First Class, for the most SCREAM Awards nominations this year, going into the event with 14 nominations each. But when the votes were tabulated it was Harry Potter that ruled the SCREAM Awards, taking home six awards including the night's top honor - Ultimate Scream Award - as well as the Best Fantasy Actor Award (Daniel Radcliffe, who appeared via satellite from New York).

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gary Oldman, and Anne Hathaway showed up to accept the Most Anticipated Movie honor for The Dark Knight Rises, and George Lucas surprised fans by taking part in the tribute to Darth Vader who was named the Ultimate Villain.

Nicolas Cage showed off new footage from Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance while accepting the Maverick Award from Quentin Tarantino. And a new clip from Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows premiered when Robert Downey Jr was given the Hero Award by Colin Farrell.

The SCREAM Awards, which honor sci-fi, fantasy, horror and comic book films and TV shows, will air on Spike TV, VH1 and VH1 Classic on Tuesday, October 18th (9:00–11:00 PM, ET/PT).
