The Sexiest Man Alive (aka Hugh Jackman) did his fellow actors proud, playing host at the 81st Annual Academy Awards and showing off his multitude of talents. Jackman sang and danced and joked and generally seemed to be having a great time as he kept Hollywood's biggest, glitziest party moving right along. Changes the Academy made to the show itself, including having five past Oscar winners in the acting categories salute and say a little about each 2008 nominee, seemed to have all benefited the broadcast. It was by far the most entertaining Oscar broadcast in years (someone needs to book Jackman now for a return engagement).

As for the awards, it was the 'little film that could' that in fact turn out to be the little film that did. Slumdog Millionaire picked up 8 Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay.
