Top 10 Movies of 2008
Up until mid-December my Top 10 list was topped by "The Dark Knight." The Best Actresses of 2008
Last year I could barely come up with five top picks in the Best Actress category. It wasn't because there weren't any good actresses around, it was because there were very, very few films with women in starring roles. This year wasn't quite as tough as there seemed to be more films with women in meaty leading roles.

The Best Supporting Actors of 2008
So many choices, so few spots on this 'Best of' list... It was difficult to narrow down this list to just five actors who stood out in supporting roles. But there was one actor who stood head and shoulders above the rest. Heath Ledger was fantastic as The Joker in "The Dark Knight" and it's just incredibly sad he's not around to enjoy the film's success.

The 2009 Oscar for Best Picture's Up for Grabs
With the removal of "The Soloist" from the 2008 release calendar, the bumpy road currently being taken by "The Road" (it's all but 100% sure to get an 09 release rather than '08), and the lingering question of whether Defiance will wind up in theaters in time to qualify for the Best Picture race, the number of potential contenders for the Academy Award for Best Picture is quickly shrinking.
