Guide Review - "Alien vs. Predator" DVD Review
Lance Henriksen stars as billionaire Charles Bishop Weyland, an industrialist who hires a team of archaeologists and scientists (played by Sanaa Lathan, Ewen Bremner, Raoul Bova, Colin Salmon, and Agathe de la Boulaye) to find out what's going on under Antarctica. It seems Weyland's company has detected a hot spot of unknown origin and Weylend, being the rich guy he is, gathers up the best of the best to go exploring.2,000 feet below the surface the team discovers a pyramid thousands of years old. Too late, the group discovers they're not alone in the mysterious underground building. Two of the most recognizable movie creatures - Aliens and Predators - seem to have made a home for themselves on Earth, doing battle against one another with humans used as bait. Who will win? I'm not telling, but you've got to know it doesn't look good for those poor people made of flesh and blood.
DVD BONUS FEATURES
I really expected a lot more extra features on the "AVP" DVD. It's hard to believe a movie of this type only has three deleted scenes worth including as bonus features. And while both the commentary tracks are enlightening, there's no commentary track on the extended cut which would have been interesting to listen to in order to understand why the extending beginning sequence was cut from the theatrical release.
