In 2004, Wilson was nominated for a Golden Globe in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television category for Angels in America. On stage, Wilson earned two consecutive Tony Award nominations for Best Actor in a Musical for The Fully Monty and Oklahoma!.
