October 1, 2004 - John Corbett recently stared in Garry Marshalls "Raising Helen" opposite Kate Hudson. He also starred as Ian Miller in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," one of the highest grossing independent films of all time. He is also known as the sexy 'Aidan Shaw' playing opposite Sarah Jessica Parker in HBOs Sex & the City, where he was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2002. John also starred on the critically acclaimed F/X series Lucky.
John Corbett will always be remembered as the disk jockey 'Chris Stevens' on the CBS series "Northern Exposure," where he received both Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. Over the last ten years, John has worked consistently in all mediums.
Born and raised in West Virginia, John moved out to California to find work in a steel factory. He worked there for six years until an injury forced him to stop. Concurrently, John was attending the local city college and decided to sit in on a friend's drama class. While watching class, he was invited on stage for an exercise and became captivated with the craft. He acted in several college theater productions in which his drama teacher recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue Hollywood.
