Why Robert Pattinson is One to Watch

Robert Pattinson's not just a pretty face topped by a much-talked about head of wild hair. It's a fact you can't say his name out loud in the presence of teenage girls without causing a near riot, but there's more to the good-looking Brit than meets the eye. Pattinson's nothing if not thorough when it comes to getting into character, and his research and angst over playing Edward Cullen in Twilight nearly drove director Catherine Hardwicke crazy. While it might be true that had he not been cast as the handsomest vampire on the planet, Pattinson may not have shot into the spotlight the way he's done, there's something undeniably interesting about the actor that would have caught the attention of moviegoers even without Twilight on his resumé.

Not one to rest on his Twilight laurels, Pattinson's looking for projects to stretch his acting muscles outside of the world of the undead. His 2009 movies include Little Ashes and New Moon.
