Hilary Duff, Chad Michael Murray, Jennifer Coolidge, and other stars of the film turned up in Hollywood for movie's World Premiere. Joining Duff on the red carpet were Madeline Zima and Simon Helburg, two supporting players from the film. Here's what Zima and Helburg had to say about fairy godmothers and working on this revamped version of the classic story.
INTERVIEW WITH MADELINE ZIMA ('Brianna'):
What can you tell me about your role in "A Cinderella Story?"
I play one of the evil stepsisters.
How much fun is it to be evil?
Well, I wasnt that evil (laughing). But it was still fun. I played more of the follower of the two sisters. I was the younger one and I just went along with all the evil plans.
Is there anything of your own personality in this role?
Umm, no. Just my natural comedic ability (laughing).
Is comedy your thing?
I love drama, I feel that thats much easier. They say that dying is easy and comedy is hard. Comedy is definitely more challenging but I love doing both.
In keeping with the Cinderella topic, do you have someone you consider to being your fairy godmother?
Right now I feel like Jennifer Coolidge is the closest thing I have to a fairy godmother in the business. Shes awesome. I make my own perfume and she tried some one time and wanted to buy some.
Are you marketing it?
No, I just do it for fun. But on the side, if this doesnt work out, I can always fall back on something.
INTERVIEW WITH SIMON HELBURG ('Terry'):
Whats your role in "A Cinderella Story?"
I play Terry the techie geek guy who is obsessed with Hilary [Duff] and tries to seduce her through the dance of Zion. Hes obsessed with The Matrix.
Are you a techie geek type guy?
It was a big stretch for me. Im a geek, Im just not a techie geek. The techie part I had to [work on].
This movie has to do with a fairy godmother. Do you think you have a fairy godmother?
I would never admit it if I did because wouldnt that make me crazy if I did? My parents are great enough so I would say they are my fairy godparents.
Has your life been like a fairy tale at all and if so, which one?
Whoa, lets see. Yeah, theres been some wicked people and when I look in the mirror, sometimes I see a wicked person. Usually its just myself. But otherwise its been good, magical.
