Mary Elizabeth Winstead Interview - Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
The Thing star Mary Elizabeth Winstead hit the black carpet at the SCREAM Awards 2011, there to support 2010's Scott Pilgrim vs the World which was up for seven awards (winning in the Fight Scene of the Year and Best Comic Book Movie categories). And while Winstead had plenty of projects to discuss, it was Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter that I wanted to talk about. Winstead was - like every other celebrity to hit the black carpet - super rushed because the show was about to get underway, but she took the time to answer my Abraham Lincoln question. In an interview in July with Alan Tudyk (he plays Stephen A Douglas in the film), he told me that the movie will differ from the book. Winstead ('Mary Todd Lincoln') confirmed that in our short-but-sweet exclusive interview:
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter stars Benjamin Walker, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Alan Tudyk, Dominic Cooper, Rufus Sewell, and Anthony Mackie, and will hit theaters on June 22, 2011.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter Synopsis
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter reveals our 16th President was actually a 19th century version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Lincoln's mother died when he was just nine, but the young boy didn't immediately learn the truth behind her death. Once he found out vampires were responsible, Lincoln did everything he could to avenge his mother's death, dedicating his life to putting an end to all bloodsuckers.
