Acting with Green – Make That ‘Blue’ – Screens: “It was actually blue screen which is better because it’s actually much calmer on the eyes. It’s like a nice blue, but the green is like a hideous green that would send you sick if you spent three months looking at that – and they’re used for different purposes.

Look, I don’t mind it. In this situation it was great because all I had to do was work with people who were really there - work with Gerry, work with all the other guys and fight together. We didn’t have to imagine anything else. What we had to imagine was the geography of the place and that’s what the blue screen was used for, to drop the whole background in afterwards. So from an acting point of view, I didn’t mind it at all.”

Working with "300" Writer/Director Zack Snyder: “I loved working with Zack. Obviously he’s extremely creative; he knew exactly what he was doing. Technically a bit of a wiz. …The fight sequences I’d go as far as to say they’d probably be the coolest fight sequences I’ve ever seen on screen. And it’s totally due to two different things: the choreography by these masters Damon [Caro] and Chad [Stahelski] who choreographed the whole thing. It’s like the coolest fight sequences you can see. But also the way that Zack filmed it. Some of the technology that he used to capture those moments have made the sequences like… they’ll be talked about for a long time. I think they’ll be quite ground-breaking.”

The technology used in creating “300’s” visual style never overshadows the characters, according to Wenham. “It’s only a way of capturing what you’re seeing and making it look really, really cool.”

The Fight Scenes of “300:” “In the film there are fight sequences that basically [are] all captured in one take. Some of them there’s no cutting in between. You just won’t believe that a) those fight sequences are actually occurring like that, and the fact that they’re real with us guys doing it. It’s us guys doing it with obviously stunt guys who are dying all the time. It’s cool and as I say, the way that Zack’s shot it and some of the innovative ways that he’s come across to do this is, I think, really going to open people’s eyes to the possibility of what you can do with film.”

Wenham’s Take on the Finished Film: “For me it’s extremely exciting. My character narrates the film and that’s why I’ve been fortunate enough to see the film. I love it. From the very first time I saw it, I think, it’s unique, it’s different, it’s exciting. It’s so different to any other film version of a story that’s of an historical basis. You know, you don’t have to be… You can be anybody to appreciate this film, I suppose. It’s not a niche market. It’s extremely accessible.”
