The American Film Institute's annual AFI Awards honor not just actors and directors but the entire creative team as a whole. Each year the group selects 10 films that represent excellence in moving image arts. Strangely enough, Avatar (which is a groundbreaking film sure to alter the art form) wasn't among the Top 10 films selected by the group to represent 2009 in films.
