Robert Pattinson: "It's absolutely nuts."

Robert Pattinson: "Absolutely not. I just thought it was a normal job. I just went in to do an audition and now it's here."

These fans have been waiting here since 5pm last night. Have you gotten tired of signing your autograph?

Robert Pattinson: "I feel like I should do something more. People are like, 'I've been here for three days.' It's like, 'Nice to meet you.' I mean, you know, what can you do?"

You were really intense into this character. You researched and really got into it. Why?

Robert Pattinson: "I didn't want to be involved in making any more rubbish movies. I just think everything's rubbish that comes out…well, virtually everything. You know, I never really set out to be an actor. I could kind of drop it at any time as well. So I thought if I'm doing a movie, you might as well do what you can do as far as it goes."

Robert Pattinson: "I got it in a completely normal way. I just did an audition and I'm still trying to figure out if I like it or not."

What sets Edward apart?

Robert Pattinson: "I'm a vampire who doesn't kill people, you know? That's kind of his basic point. And they can live in normal society so they can kind of look like humans. I guess that's what makes them different."

How will the movie compare to the book?

Robert Pattinson: "I think the movie will stand on its own, I think. "

How do you explain the pop culture phenomenon that Twilight has become?

Robert Pattinson: "I think it's just…I guess it fills some kind of void. And also I don't think a lot of stuff – a lot of material is dedicated to young males. I don't think a lot hardly anything is dedicated to young females. I think they're very passionate about it."
