Gerard Butler Interview
Gerard Butler ('One Two')
What is a RocknRolla?
Gerard Butler: "Oh, I don't f-cking know."
Yes, you do. You were in the movie – you know this.
Gerard Butler: "Okay, rocknrolla, cool, dangerous, lives in the moment, takes chances."
You.
Gerard Butler: "I wish. There's a little bit of me in there. There's probably a little bit of everybody in there. But I think the other thing about a rocknrolla is you also feel that they go over the edge a little bit. It's like they don't always do it for the good as in, 'I love that guy. I love how he eats up life.' It's more like, 'That guy used to eat up life and now he has a bit of a problem. It's time to slow down.' But so I don't know. It feels like a pretty intense person."
I haven't seen the movie yet but I understand you have a pretty interesting sex scene, and you were sick or something and that's how it came about?
Gerard Butler: "I wasn't feeling too well and so we agreed that it's probably best that I didn't make out with Thandie. I actually think she made me sick because she didn't want to kiss me."
It's all a plot.
Gerard Butler: "It could have been. It could have been because she used to always come up and stick me with needles that said 'germs'. So, anyway, I got sick and I couldn't kiss her and we basically had a sex scene that Guy kind of thought up like that going, 'You know what? Let's just do a kind of quick cut.' And it's actually, it's so awesome what he did with it."
Was it more difficult than if you'd actually being doing…
Gerard Butler: "It turned out, seriously, to be one of the most difficult scenes I ever did because they pretty much said, 'Put your face in front of the camera and have an orgasm. Give us the 10 seconds before.' And I jumped up, I ran around the room, and I'm like, 'How do you have an orgasm? I don't know.' I've never done that. Well, I have but I don't generally study myself in the mirror, yeah. Not on camera – not in a film."
Is there going to be a sequel?
Gerard Butler: "Apparently so, yeah."
And you're going to do it?
Gerard Butler: "I don't know. I haven't read it. I mean, I'd love to work with Guy. I'd love to work with Guy and the guys. I'm that kind of guy."
