A good soundtrack is an integral part of a romantic film. A good soundtrack CD needs to remind you of the film while providing entertainment value on its own. Along with the incredible amount of romance films released in 2001, there's a huge variety of soundtrack CDs to choose from. Here are my personal picks for the best romantic movie soundtrack CDs released in 2000 or 2001.

7.) "Riding in Cars with Boys" - Music From The Motion Picture - Various Artists
This soundtrack features some truly classic hits from the 60s and 70s, sung by the original artists. Even if this wasn't a movie soundtrack CD, it'd be worth adding to any music collection. Sonny & Cher, The Everly Brothers, and Cyndi Lauper are just a few of the artists on this CD.

8.) "Rock Star" - Various Artists
"Rock Star's" soundtrack is out of the norm when it comes to romance films. Fans don't often think of heavy metal music when it comes to romantic movie soundtracks. "Rock Star's" soundtrack contains songs from some of the best rockers around.

9.) "Me, Myself and Irene" - Various Artists
Artists including the Foo Fighters, Smash Mouth, and Third Eye Blind contribute to the soundtrack to Jim Carrey's romantic comedy, "Me, Myself and Irene."
